People view fatness as a deterrent, as a roadblock to living a full life, whatever that is.

These people are quick to question you about your weight and what you’re “doing about it”

Very slow, if at all, to question why opportunities and fair treatment are being withheld from you.

Its easy for them to sit there and ask you fifty questions about why you’re fat instead of questioning a system and their own place in it that makes your fatness an issue.

I’ve been fat all my life and the only thing that’s ever held me back with other people is their insistence and insinuations that I live less, do less, am capable less, and am worth less because I am a fat.

I am not a “hostage” in my body, I do not hold others “hostage” in their bodies by choosing to embrace my body. I am, however, constantly under the attack of an administration and industry for profit which spends billions of dollar telling the world that I should be persecuted and I’m wrong for existing and trying to embrace myself, that I’m somehow making a choice to be treated like less of humyn being.
